Introducing the 3K Carbon Fiber Trekking Pole

Hiking Trekking Pole Poles 3K Carbon Fiber with Cork Grip

August 13, 2018

At Cascade Mountain Tech, we now have over 10 different trekking pole options. Choices range to offer varying grip options, shaft materials, and overall construction methods. Our new favorite trekking pole is the premium 3K Carbon Fiber Quick Lock with Cork Grip.

Why choose the 3K?

The 3K Carbon Fiber Trekking Pole is made with a woven carbon fiber, which is far more malleable than our other carbon fiber poles that are made from a unidirectional fiber. The weave of the 3K Carbon Fiber creates strength both in the vertical & horizontal direction, allowing the pole to withstand more force. In other words, these poles are more durable in consideration of twisting or flexing, making them less likely to snap when twisted or bent.

What about my old poles?

We have already heard people ask if they should switch poles even though they love what they already have. Our answer is – no, you definitely don't need to! All of our poles are built high-quality material and we stand behind each pair. If you are happy with the poles you have, we hope you'll continue to use and love them!

We love to use our poles while hiking in the Pacific Northwest. At Cascade Mountain Tech, we are lucky to have several hiking trails very close to the office. Some are even close enough that we are able to go on our lunch break!

Jan, our hiking expert and customer service superstar, recently took our new 3K Carbon Fiber Quick Lock Trekking Poles to gorgeous Granite Mountain, located in the Snoqualmie, WA region.

Granite Mountain:

  • Highest point 5900 ft
  • 10 miles round trip
  • Elevation gain of 3800 ft

"My son and I hiked Granite Mountain on Saturday.  He is preparing for his first summit of Mountain Rainer in August.  He’ll be using the 3K Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles on his trek to Camp Muir en-route to the summit.  I used the 3K Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles.  Great poles! I'm planning to hike Banderra next weekend with them."

Be sure to check out the Mount Rainier Summit. It's tough and we are so impressed by anyone who makes it to the summit!
